Poor performance and slowdowns of Citrix XenApp are business impacting. Used to monitor some of the largest Citrix deployments in the world, the eG Citrix XenApp Monitor simplifies the discovery, diagnosis and resolution of performance problems that impact the Citrix user experience.
You no longer have to guess why users complain that "Citrix is slow". By monitoring, analyzing and correlating metrics across every layer, every tier of the Citrix service infrastructure, you can prove "It’s Not Citrix" that is always the cause of a problem.View Demo INFOGRAPHIC: Citrix Technology Performance Monitoring Success in 2016
Citrix XenApp is one of the most performance sensitive applications in the enterprise. Poor performance results in screen freezes, slow logins, slow application launches, keystroke lags, session disconnects, etc. Citrix slowness affects user productivity and has a significant business impact. Since a Citrix XenApp farm supports hundreds of users, a slowdown impacts all the users.
Identifying the exact cause of a Citrix XenApp performance issue is a challenge because there are many different tiers with inter-dependencies between them. Furthermore, any of the tiers can be hosted on virtual machines. Therefore a problem in one tier can impact all the other tiers.
When a Citrix user complains about slowness, he/she is reporting about the performance of the entire Citrix service, not about a specific XenApp server. Performance issues with the virtualization platform, network, storage, or Active Directory can all cause Citrix user experience issues.
eG Enterprise's service topology provides a single pane of glass, correlated view into the performance of the Citrix service infrastructure end-to-end. By simply looking at the Citrix XenApp service topology and the color codes of the different tiers, even helpdesk personnel can quickly determine which tier the problem lies in and which administrator they need to call to resolve the problem.
With eG Enterprise Universal Insight, administrators have detailed visibility into the performance of every layer, every tier of the Citrix infrastructure - including the Citrix tiers and the non-Citrix tiers (VMware, storage, network, profile servers, Active Directory, etc.). Using agent or agentless monitoring, eG Enterprise collects key user experience and resource metrics for every tier.
The metrics are auto-baselined and any deviations from the norm are flagged as proactive alerts. The state of each tier is presented in an easy to understand layer model representation and alerts are prioritized automatically based on which layer they relate to. Administrators can now easily pin-point which layer is causing a problem.
eG Enterprise provides unparalleled visibility into Citrix XenApp performance. It tracks key user experience metrics such as what logon times did each user see, why was logon slow (due to profile loading, Active Directory authentication or group processing?), is any user connecting through a low bandwidth network, is any user using a lot of bandwidth and if so, why is the bandwidth usage high (e.g., A/V traffic), and what are the screen refresh latencies for users. Administrators also have access to session and application usage metrics such as which users are logged in, what applications are they using, what are the most popular and resource intensive applications in the farm.

eG Enterprise is the only automatic root-cause diagnosis solution for virtualized Citrix infrastructures. Its patented correlation engine analyzes and correlates performance across every Citrix service tier and helps administrators identify the cause of a performance issue - is it the network? Database? Application? Citrix? VMware? Storage?
Administrators no longer have to spend hours troubleshooting when a user says “Citrix is slow”. With just one click, they can pin-point the exact root-cause of a Citrix performance problem and fix it quickly. Even helpdesk personnel can use eG Enterprise to triage Citrix performance problems, so Citrix admins are not bothered if the issue is caused by a network, VMware, or a storage problem.
