Target of the test : An ISA Proxy server 2004

Agent deploying the test : An internal agent

Outputs of the test : One set of results for every ISA Proxy server that is being monitored

Configurable parameters for the test
Parameters Description

Test period

This indicates how often should the test be executed.

The host for which the test is to be configured.

Refers to the port used by the ISA Proxy server.

Measurements made by the test
Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation

Active web sessions

Indicates the number of active Web sessions currently connected to the ISA proxy Server.

Connect errors

Indicates the total number of errors that occurred while connecting.

DNS cache hit ratio

Indicates the percentage of DNS domain names served from the DNS cache.

Failed requests

Indicates the rate of requests that have failed because of some type of error.

A high failure rate, in comparison to the rate of incoming requests, will suggest that the ISA Proxy server is having difficulty in coping with all incoming requests. Connection settings for incoming Web requests may be incorrectly configured, or connection bandwidth may be insufficient.

Inbound connections

Indicates the rate of incoming connections.

Outbound connections

Indicates the rate of outgoing connections.

Requests rate

Indicates the rate of requests to the Web Proxy filter.

A higher value means that more ISA Proxy server resources will be required to service incoming requests.
