Disk Space - IGEL Test

This test monitors the space usage of every disk partition on an IGEL Endpoint.

Target of the test : An IGEL Endpoint

Outputs of the test : One set of results for every combination of IGEL Endpoint:disk_partition

Parameter Description

Test Period

How often should the test be executed.


The nick name of the IGEL Endpoints component for which this test is to be configured.


Refers to the port at which the specified host listens to. By default, this is NULL.

Inside View Using

To obtain the 'inside view' of performance of the IGEL Endpoints - i.e., to measure the internal performance of the IGEL Endpoints - this test uses a light-weight Endpoint Agent software deployed on each of the IGEL Endpoints. The Endpoint Agents collect performance metrics from the IGEL Endpoints and communicate the metrics to the eG remote agent using TCP protocol. Accordingly, by default, this parameter is set to eG VM Agent.

Since this test runs for an 'IGEL Endpoints' component, this flag is set to No by default.

Report Powered OS

Since this test runs for an 'IGEL Endpoints' component, this flag is set to Yes by default.

Is Cloud VMs

Since this test runs for an 'IGEL Endpoints' component, this flag is set to Yes by default.


Against this parameter, you can provide a comma-separated list of disk partitions that you want to exclude from the scope of monitoring. For example, you can use this parameter to exclude temporary partitions that the target IGEL Endpoint creates from monitoring.

Total capacity

Indicates the total capacity of this disk partition.



Used space

Indicates the amount of space used in this disk partition.



Free space

Indicates the current free space available for this disk partition.



Percent usage

Indicates the percentage of space usage on this disk partition.


A value close to 100% can indicate a potential problem situation where applications executing on the guest may not be able to write data to the disk partition(s) with very high usage.
