How to Monitor Business Transactions to Windows Service Applications?

The broad steps to achieve this are as follows:

  1. Install the eG agent on the Windows system where the target .NET/.NET Core application is installed as a Windows service. To know how to achieve this, refer to the eG Installation Guide.

  2. Install and configure the eG Business Transaction Profiler that specializes in monitoring .NET / .NET Core applications running as Windows services

  3. Configure seamless communication between the eG agent and the eG Business Transaction Profiler

  4. Manage the target Microsoft .NET application as a Microsoft .NET Application or Microsoft .NET Client, depending upon the type of Windows service application that is being monitored.

  5. Configure tests for the managed application.
