Managing the RHEV Hypervisor

eG Enterprise can automatically discover the RHEV Hypervisor in the environment. The discovered hypervisor can be managed using the following steps:

1. Log into the eG administrative interface.

2. To manage the RHEV Hypervisor that is already discovered, directly proceed towards managing it using the COMPONENTS – MANAGE/UNMANAGE page (Infrastructure -> Components -> Manage/Unmanage).

3. However, if it is yet to be discovered, then run discovery (Infrastructure -> Components -> Discover) to discover or add the component manually using the COMPONENTSpage (Infrastructure -> Components -> Add/Modify). Remember that components manually added are managed automatically. Discovered components, however, are managed using the COMPONENTS – MANAGE / UNMANAGEpage. and Figure 2 clearly illustrate the process of managing the RHEV Hypervisor server.

4. When you attempt to sign out of the eG administrative interface, a list of unconfigured tests will appear as shown in Figure 3:

5. Configure the tests by clicking on the test names. See Monitoring the RHEV Hypervisor chapter for more details on configuring the tests.

6. Finally, signout of the administrative interface.
