Command Execution Test
Users can perform certain system functions on the operating systems by executing commands through the command prompt on the host system. When the users execute such commands, they should be executed quickly and perform the system functions as expected. Sometimes, the time taken to execute these commands may spike gradually/suddenly due to various reasons. This can lead to unnecessary hogging of resources leading to resource crunch on the host system. Because of this, other critical processes may not get sufficient resources for execution and, therefore, system performance may suffer. To avoid such untoward incidents, it is important that administrators should continuously monitor how quickly the commands are executed on the host system. This can be easily done using the Command Execution Test.
This test monitors the target host system and reports the time taken for command execution. This way, administrators are promptly alerted of any sudden/gradual increase in the command execution time.
This test is disabled by default. To enable the test, go to the enable / disable tests page using the menu sequence : Agents -> Tests -> Enable/Disable, pick the desired Component type, set Performance as the Test type, choose the test from the DISABLED TESTS list, and click on the << button to move the test to the ENABLED TESTS list. Finally, click the Update button.
