Concurrent Endpoint Licensing

This licensing model is ideal for environments where numerous endpoint devices are monitored - for e.g., IGEL endpoints, MAC / Linux endpoints etc.

If this option is enabled, you can manage any number of components of the following types, without any monitor licenses, provided the maximum number of unique endpoint devices that are monitored on these components every day during the last 14 days is within a stipulated license limit:

  • IGEL Endpoints Group

  • Dell Wyse Client Group

  • Stratodesk Endpoints Group

  • Google Chromebooks Group

At configured intervals (default: 30 minutes), the eG manager automatically computes the total number of endpoint devices that are monitored across all managed components of the types mentioned above. These 30-minute records are then compared at the end of the day, and the maximum value for the day is determined.

This maximum number is compared with the licensed number of concurrent devices to capture violations (if any). If this license is violated in any 7 out of the last 14 days, the eG agents will stop executing all tests that report metrics on the internal health and resource usage of the individual endpoints.

Moreover, after the seventh violation (in 14 days), you will not be able to add/manage any additional component of the aforementioned types until you obtain additional concurrent device licenses. For every license violation that occurs in the last 14 days, eG sends mail alerts to the configured eG administrator mail ID regarding the license violation.
