How to Monitor APC Automatic Transfer Switch(ATS) using eG Enterprise?

eG Enterprise monitors the APC Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) using an eG external agent that is deployed on any remote host in the environment. This eG agent polls the SNMP MIB of the APC Automatic Transfer Switch at configured intervals to gather its performance statistics .

Before attempting to monitor the switch, ensure that the switch is SNMP-enabled. To start monitoring the APC Automatic Transfer Switch, manage the APC Automatic Transfer Switch component using the eG admin interface. The procedure for achieving this is discussed in the following section.

Managing the APC Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Component

The eG manager uses SNMP to auto-discover the switch. If, for some reason, the switch could not be discovered automatically, then you can manually add the switch for monitoring using the eG admin interface. To manage an APC ATS component, do the following:

  1. Log into the eG admin interface.
  2. If the APC Automatic Transfer Switch is already discovered, then directly proceed towards managing it using the Components – Manage/Unmanage/Delete page. To access this page, follow the Components -> Manage/Unmanage/Delete menu sequence in the Infrastructure tile of the Admin menu.
  3. However, if the target switch is yet to be discovered, then first run discovery (Infrastructure -> Components -> Discovery) to get it discovered, and then follow step 2 to manage it. Alternatively, you can follow the Components -> Add/Modify menu sequence in the Infrastructure tile of the Admin menu to manually add the component using the Components page. In this case, the Components page that will appear next. Select APC ATS as the Component typehere. Then, click the Add New Component button. This will invoke .
