Monitoring Aruba WiFi Controller/AccessPoint

Figure 5 shows the dedicated Aruba WiFi Controller/AccessPoint monitoring model offered by eG Enterprise .

Figure 5 : Layer model of Aruba WiFi Controller/AccessPoint

Each layer of Figure 5 is mapped to a variety of tests that provide valuable insights into the overall performance of the Aruba Wireless Accesspoint. With the help of the metrics reported by these tests, administrators can find quick and accurate answers for the following queries:

  • Are there any frames that were received in an error state?

  • How many users have recently logged in/out?

  • Is the CPU usage unusually high?

  • Is the memory utilization abnormal?

  • Is the radio connected to the access point up and running?

  • Is the number of dropped frames high?

  • Is the access point a controller?

  • Are there any access points that were disconnected from the controller?

Since the tests pertaining to the Network layer have already been discussed in the Monitoring Unix and Windows Servers document, the sections to come will discuss the tests associated with the remaining layers alone.
