What is F5 VELOS/rSeries Appliance?
The F5 VELOS/rSeries appliance is a high-performance, modular chassis system designed by F5 Networks to support large-scale, enterprise-grade application delivery and security needs. VELOS uses a chassis and blade architecture, allowing for scalable deployment. Up to eight blades can be installed in a single chassis. The chassis can be divided into multiple virtual partitions, each managing a subset of blades. This allows for multi-tenancy and workload isolation. Each partition can host multiple tenants, which are guest systems running software like BIG-IP. VELOS runs on F5OS, a platform layer that integrates system controllers and chassis partitions.

Why Monitor F5 VELOS/rSeries Appliance?
F5 rSeries and F5 VELOS introduces a new platform layer called F5OS which is made up of a system controller component and a chassis partition component. F5 VELOS/rSeries Appliance is designed for high-throughput environments, such as those handling AI workloads or large-scale web applications. Continuous monitoring of this appliance help ensure hardware health, optimal throughput, latency, and resource utilization across blades and tenants, identifies bottlenecks or underutilized resources, detects unauthorized access attempts, configuration changes, or anomalies that could indicate a breach. For this purpose, eG Enterprise offers a specialized F5 VELOS/rSeries Appliance monitoring model.
