Monitoring Gigamon Traffic Node

eG Enterprise offers a specialized monitoring model for a Gigamon Traffic Node. By periodically polling the SNMP MIB of the traffic node, the eG external agent extracts useful metrics revealing the resource usage of the node, the operating speed of fans, and more!

With the help of the metrics that are extracted by the eG external agent, the following questions can be answered easily and accurately:

  • Is the average CPU load abnormally high?

  • Is the memory utilization of the target traffic node high?

  • Is any fan operating at abnormal speed?

  • Is any power supply unit in an Off state?

  • Is any hardware unit operating at an abnormal temperature?
