Troubleshooting

If the eG agent is unable to retrieve metrics from the Chromebooks, then you may want to check whether/not the Telemetry settings are enabled on the Chromebooks. To perform this check, do the following:

  • In the Admin console, click on the hamburger menu icon in the upper-left corner.

  • In the side navigation menu that appears, click the Devices option provided below the Chrome sub-node under the Devices node.

  • Expanding the Devices option menu will list the additional nodes wherein you need click the Settings node. Clicking the Settings node will display available settings in the right panel (see Figure 1).

  • Now, clicking the Device settings tab will list the related settings as shown in Figure 1. Scroll down the table further until you find the Users and device reporting tabular section (see Figure 2).

  • Then, click the Report device OS information link in the Setting column (see Figure 2). This will invoke the Report device OS information page wherein you need to make sure that the Enable all OS reporting is chosen from the Configuration list as shown in Figure 3.

  • Next, scroll down further until you reach the Report device telemetry link (see Figure 4) in the User and device reporting tabular section.

  • Clicking the Report device telemetry link will lead you the Report device telemetry page where all the device related metrics are listed as shown in:

In the page that appears, you should ensure if all the listed metrics are selected, if not, select the metrics and save the settings.
