HPE StoreOnce Appliance Overview Test
This test continuously monitors the HPE StoreOnce backup appliance and reports the status of the appliance, data services, user storage, license, etc. In addition, this test also tracks the local and cloud storage capacity and utilization of the appliance. It also helps administrators keep an eye on the amount of data stored, the number of catalysts, replication, VTL, and NAS sessions running on the appliance. This way, administrators can be proactively alerted to potential failures, slowdowns, or problematic conditions due to resource contention, overload, or any critical status of the appliance and associated services.
Target of the test : HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x
Agent deploying the test : A remote agent
Outputs of the test : One set of results for every HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x appliance being monitored.
Parameters | Description |
---|---|
Test Period |
How often should the test be executed. |
Host |
The host for which the test is to be configured. |
Port |
The port at which the host is listening. By default, this is set to Null. |
Username and Password |
By default, the eG agent executes REST APIs on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x appliance to collect the required metrics. For the eG agent to execute the REST APIs, a special user with an Observer role is required. Specify the credentials of such a user in the Username and Password text boxes. |
Confirm Password |
Confirm the password by retyping it here. |
Timeout Seconds |
Specify the duration (in seconds) beyond which the test will timeout in this text box. The default value is 120 seconds. |
DD Frequency |
Refers to the frequency with which detailed diagnosis measures are to be generated for this test. The default is 4:1. This indicates that, by default, detailed measures will be generated every time this test runs, and also every time the test detects a problem. You can modify this frequency, if you so desire. Also, if you intend to disable the detailed diagnosis capability for this test, you can do so by specifying none against DD frequency. |
Detailed Diagnosis |
To make diagnosis more efficient and accurate, the eG Enterprise embeds an optional detailed diagnostic capability. With this capability, the eG agents can be configured to run detailed, more elaborate tests as and when specific problems are detected. To enable the detailed diagnosis capability of this test for a particular server, choose the On option. To disable the capability, click on the Off option. The option to selectively enable/disable the detailed diagnosis capability will be available only if the following conditions are fulfilled:

Total data stored - local disk |
Indicates the total amount of data stored in the local disk on this appliance. |
TB |
|
||||||||||||
Available capacity - local disk |
Indicates the currently available local disk capacity for this appliance. |
TB |
A low value for this measure indicates low space on the local disk to store data. This in turn cause space contention that can cause backup and restore operations to fail thereby leading loss of data. |
||||||||||||
Local usage |
Indicates the percentage of utilization of local disk by this appliance. |
