HPE StoreOnce Catalyst Services Test

HPE StoreOnce Catalyst is a data protection optimized interface that simplifies creates a relationship between data protection applications and StoreOnce Backup system and simplifies management. The StoreOnce Catalyst not only enhances the efficiency of data movement across the enterprise but also catalyst provides higher performance and more flexible control than traditional interfaces. The catalyst offers the following benefits:

  • Simplified management of data movement from a single pane of glass : tighter integration with your backup application to centrally manage file replication across the enterprise.

  • Seamless control across complex environments : supporting a range of flexible configurations that enable the concurrent movement of data from one site to multiple sites, and the ability to cascade data around the enterprise (sometimes referred to as multi-hop).

  • Enhance performance : distributed deduplication processing using StoreOnce Catalyst stores on the StoreOnce systems and on multiple servers can optimize loading and utilization of backup hardware, network links and backup servers for faster deduplication and backup performance.

  • Scale out with external object storage to augment the local System storage with the Cloud Bank extension to Catalyst.

  • Faster time to backup to meet shrinking backup windows: up to 288 TB/hour* aggregate throughput.

  • StoreOnce Catalyst prevents exposure of backup copies to ransomware.

The StoreOnce Catalyst functionality is optimized by best practice configuration and verification services offered by HPE StoreOnce Catalyst Solution. To ensure the best data protection and peak performance of the target backup system, administrators should be able to detect issues in the StoreOnce Catalyst much before users complain. The HPE StoreOnce Catalyst Services test helps administrators in this regard! This test reports the current status of the StoreOnce Catalyst service in real-time, thus proactively alerting administrators to service degradation. This test additionally reveals health of the StoreOnce Catalyst service, thus promptly bringing abnormalities to the attention of administrators. This will enable administrators to initiate corrective action and bring the health of the StoreOnce Catalyst to normal.

Parameters Description

Test Period

How often should the test be executed.

Host

The host for which the test is to be configured.

Port

The port at which the host is listening. By default, this is set to Null.

Username and Password

By default, the eG agent executes REST APIs on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system to collect the required metrics. For the eG agent to execute the REST APIs, a special user with user role is required. Specify the credentials of such a user in the Username and Password text boxes.

Confirm Password

Confirm the password by retyping it here.

Timeout Seconds

Specify the duration (in seconds) beyond which the test will timeout in this text box. The default value is 120 seconds.

Service Set

A service set is a collection of services such as Virtual Tape Library(VTL), Network Attached Storage(NAS), Replication and StoreOnce Catalyst. There is one instance of each service per service set. By default, the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system is associated with a service set. Therefore, the Service Set parameter is set to 1 by default. If you are monitoring multiple HPE Storeonce Backup systems in your environment, then, specify the exact number associated with the service set that is assigned to each HPE StoreOnce Backup system that is to be monitored.
