HPE StoreOnce Overall Replication Services Test
HP StoreOnce Data Replication Solution Service helps you configure the best possible performance of your replication environment. Replication data services include replication mapping for Virtual Tape Libraries and NAS shares, and general replication settings. Replication mapping is available for source and target Virtual Tape Libraries and NAS shares. If the Data Replication Service is faulty /stopped/not running, then, data replication may be indefinitely halted until the service is restored. If the replication is halted more frequently, then, the data stored in the Virtual Tape Libraries and the NAS Shares may not be in sync with the source leading to data inconsisitencies. To avoid such inconsistencies, it is essential to monitor the status of the replication service at all times. The HPE StoreOnce Overall Replication Services helps administrators in this regard!
This test reports the overall status and health of the HPE StoreOnce Data Replication Service. Besides, administrators can also figure the level of activity on the replication service.
Target of the test : HPE StoreOnce Backup
Agent deploying the test : A remote agent
Outputs of the test : One set of results for the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system being monitored.
Parameters | Description |
---|---|
Test Period |
How often should the test be executed. |
Host |
The host for which the test is to be configured. |
Port |
The port at which the host is listening. By default, this is set to Null. |
Username and Password |
By default, the eG agent executes REST APIs on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system to collect the required metrics. For the eG agent to execute the REST APIs, a special user with user role is required. Specify the credentials of such a user in the Username and Password text boxes. |
Confirm Password |
Confirm the password by retyping it here. |
Timeout Seconds |
Specify the duration (in seconds) beyond which the test will timeout in this text box. The default value is 120 seconds. |
Service Set |
A service set is a collection of services such as Virtual Tape Library(VTL), Network Attached Storage(NAS), Replication and StoreOnce Catalyst. There is one instance of each service per service set. By default, the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system is associated with a service set. Therefore, the Service Set parameter is set to 1 by default. If you are monitoring multiple HPE Storeonce Backup systems in your environment, then, specify the exact number associated with the service set that is assigned to each HPE StoreOnce Backup system that is to be monitored. |
Measurement | Description | Measurement Unit | Interpretation | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Replication status |
Indicates the current status of the replication service. |
|
The values that this measure can report and their corresponding numeric values are tabulated below:
Note: By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values only. However, in the graph of this measure, the status will be represented using the corresponding numeric equivalents only. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Replication health level |
Indicates the overall health of the replication service. |
|
The values that this measure can report and the states they indicate are tabulated below:
Note: By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values while indicating the overall health of the replication service. However, the graph of this measure will be represented using the corresponding numeric equivalents of the measure values as mentioned in the table above. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Data received |
Indicates the rate at which data was received by the replication service during the last measurement period. |
MB/sec |
A sudden/gradual increase/decrease in the value of this measure signals a potential congestion or slowdown of data reception by the replication service. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Data transmitted |
Indicates the rate at which data was transmitted through the replication service during the last measurement period. |
MB/sec |
A sudden/gradual increase/decrease in the value of this measure signals a potential congestion or slowdown of data transmission through the replication service. |
