Managed Server Details Test

This test reports the state of the pSeries servers managed by the HMC server being monitored.

Target of the test : An IBM HMC server

Agent deploying the test : A remote agent

Outputs of the test : One set of results for each IBM pSeries server managed by the HMC server.

State

Indicates the current state of this pSeries server.

 

This measure reports the value Operating, if the pSeries server is in an operational state currently. If not, this measure will report the value Not Operating.

The numeric values that correspond to the states discussed above are as follows:

Note:

By default, this measure reports the values Operating or Not operating to indicate the status of a managed pSeries servers. The graph of this measure however, represents the status using the numeric equivalents - 0 to 3.

Total open managed serviceable events

Indicates the total count of open serviceable events captured by the HMC server. 

Number

Problem Analysis on the HMC automatically detects error conditions and reports any problem that requires service to repair it. These problems are reported as serviceable events.

Ideally, the value of this measure should be 0. A non-zero value for this measure indicates the existence of one/more error conditions. Under such circumstances, use the detailed diagnosis of the Recent open managed serviceable events measure to know which error conditions occurred recently and are awaiting repair.

Recent open managed serviceable events

Indicates the number of serviceable events that were recently opened.

Number

Ideally, the value of this measure should be 0. A non-zero value for this measure indicates the existence of one/more error conditions. Under such circumstances, use the detailed diagnosis of this measure to know which error conditions occurred recently and are awaiting repair.

Recent closed managed serviceable events

Indicates the number of serviceable events that were closed recently.

Indicates the number of console events that were captured recently by HMC.

Number

Console events are system events occurring on the Hardware Management Console. System events are individual activities that indicate when processes occur, begin and end, succeed or fail.

A non-zero value for this measure indicates that system events have occurred.
