Monitoring Microsoft Azure DNS Private Resolvers

eG Enterprise provides a specialized Microsoft Azure DNS Private Resolvers model for hosting your DNS domains in the Microsoft cloud.

The layer in Figure 1 is mapped to a single test that report metrics on the domain names and their associated records that Azure’s DNS service will use to direct traffic for that domain. Using the metrics reported by this test, administrators can find accurate answers for the following performance queries:

• Is the DNS Private Resolver in a disconnected state?

• Is the provisioning state of the DNS Private Resolver 'Succeeded'?

• Is the rate at which queries resolved by this DNS private resolver high?

• Is the DNS private resolver handling too inbound/outbound endpoints?
