SCC CPU Usage Test

SAP Cloud Connector (SCC) CPU usage refers to the CPU cycles that the SAP Cloud Connector application consumes while running. The CPU usage of SAP Cloud Connector can vary depending on several factors, including the number of connected systems, the amount of data being transferred, and the configuration of the connector itself. SAP typically provides system requirements and recommendations for deploying the Cloud Connector, including guidelines on the CPU specifications required based on usage and scale.

This test monitors the SCC CPU usage to have a check on stability, performance, and security of your SAP Cloud Connector. It allows you to proactively manage system resources, optimize performance, and address any issues that may arise due to CPU-related factors.

Target of the test : SAP Cloud Connector.

Agent deploying the test : An external/internal agent

Outputs of the test : One set of results for each SCC subaccount.

Configurable parameters for the test

Parameter	Description
Test period	How often should the test be executed.
Host	Specify the host for which the test is to be configured.
Port	Specify the port at which the specified host listens to. Default port is 8443.
SSL	By default, the SAP Cloud Connector is SSL-enabled. Accordingly, the SSL flag is set to Yes by default. This indicates that the eG agent will communicate with the SAP Cloud Connector via HTTPS by default.
Username	User ID should have login access, read applications, read spaces and read organization. So, create new User ID and set user role as Administrator or Monitoring. For details on user authentication and roles refer to How does eG Enterprise Monitor SAP Cloud Connector?
Password	The password of the specified user ID.

Measurements made by the test

Measurement	Description	Measurement Unit	Interpretation
Total CPU Usage	Indicates the percentage total usage of the CPU on the server on which cloud connector is hosted.	Percentage	This is the percentage of total CPU capacity used at any given time. If this number is near 100%, the server will struggle to perform even the basic tasks. Admins need to investigate which process is consuming most of the CPU capacity.
Cloud connector CPU usage	Indicates the percentage of CPU used by SAP cloud connector.	Percentage	If overall CPU is high and SAP connector process is the one which is consuming most CPU cycles, then admins need to look into this process.
