AMH Logical Node Test

Alliance Messaging Hub (AMH) is a modular, financial messaging solution for corporate networks. It allows extensive throughput and sophisticated data management through the use of latest technology to manage messages and files. To better utilize the physical node resources, a number of virtual or logical nodes are created on the physical node.

This test monitors the logical nodes and reports key metrics like status, number of services running, service quality etc. These statistics provide great insights into the health of logical nodes and ensure that administrators take corrective action before the node fails.

Target of the test : A Swift AMH node instance

Agent deploying the test : An internal agent

Outputs of the test : One set of results for each logical node being monitored.

Configurable parameters for the test

Parameter

Description

Test period

How often should the test be executed

Host

The host for which the test is to be configured.

Port

The port at which the specified host listens.

Execrule.sh location

Specify the full path of execrule.sh file which provides details of physical node.

Measures made by the test

Measurement

Description

Measurement Unit

Interpretation

Is Active

Indicates if the current logical node is active or not.

The numeric values that correspond to these measure values are as follows:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Yes 10
No 0

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the Is Active. In the graph of this measure however, the same is indicated using the numeric equivalents only.

Logical node state

Indicates the current state of this logical node if it running or not.

The numeric values that correspond to these measure values are as follows:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Running 10
Stopped 0

Shutdown

-1

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the Logical node state. In the graph of this measure however, the same is indicated using the numeric equivalents only.

Is running on assigned PN

Indicates if the current logical node is running on assigned physical node only.

The numeric values that correspond to these measure values are as follows:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Yes 10
No 0

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the Is running on assigned PN. In the graph of this measure however, the same is indicated using the numeric equivalents only.

Auto switch enabled

Indicates if the auto switch is enabled or not on current logical node.

The numeric values that correspond to these measure values are as follows:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Yes 10
No 0

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the Auto switch enabled. In the graph of this measure however, the same is indicated using the numeric equivalents only.

Running services

Indicates the number of services running on the current logical node.

Number

The number of running services should be equal to total number of services.

Degraded services

Indicates the number of services which are in degraded state on current logical node.

Number

If the service quality has degraded it needs to be taken care of.

Stopped Services

Indicates the number of services which are in stopped state on current logical node.

Number

Any stopped services should be brought back for node to be able to perform its functions efficiently.
