Obtaining an SSL Certificate Signed by a Valid Certifying Authority
Self-signed certificates are useful in environments where ‘security’ is not a priority. In highly secure environments, especially where the eG manager is to be frequently accessed via the public internet, using a self-signed certificate may not be preferred. In such a case, you can obtain a valid certificate from a certificate authority and use that certificate to enable SSL support for the eG manager's JMX.
The procedure for generating this certificate is different for Unix and Windows managers.
