HANA XS Application Availability Check Test

A check event is triggered for monitoring the availability of HANA XS application in SAP BTP Neo Environment. An event is sent if the application is not available or the response time is longer than the configured thresholds. Another event is sent again when the application is available again or the response time is back to normal.

This test reports whether/not the HANA XS application is up and running in SAP BTP Neo Environment. If so, the test additionally reports the responsiveness of the HANA XS application.

Target of the test : A SAP BTP Neo Environment

Agent deploying the test : An internal/remote agent

Outputs of the test : One set of results for each HANA XS Application in the target SAP BTP Neo Environment.

Measurements made by the test
Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation

State

Indicates the status of HANA XS applications.

The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:

Measure Value

Numeric Value
OK 0
Stable 1
Warning 2
Unstable 3
Critical 4

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate whether/not status of HANA XS applications is stable.

If HANA XS application is not available or its response time is too high, you'll receive an alert notification, provided your application has started and you have configured alerting. The alert is triggered if the application is not in state OK for two consecutive checks. Furthermore, an alert is also triggered when the state of a check changes. For example, the state changes from CRITICAL/WARNING to OK. If you stop the application by yourself, you won't receive a notification as in this case alerting is suppressed and enabled once again when you start the application. In this case, the availability check starts running at the moment you create it and will not stop until you delete it.

Response time

Indicates the time taken by HANA XS application to respond to the requests.

Seconds

A low value is typically desired for this measure.

Response size

Indicates the size taken by HANA XS application to respond to requests.
