How does eG Enterprise Monitor SAP BusinessObjects Data Services
eG Enterprise monitors the SAP BODS in both agent-based and agentless manners. To obtain all the critical measures pertaining to the performance of the SAP BODS, it is recommended that you use eG’s Agent-based Monitoring approach. eG Enterprise employs dual monitoring approach to monitor BODS, for tests specific to Data Flows, Job Execution, Repository and Webservice connection, it uses Webservice to connect and pull monitoring data from BODS.
For rest of the tests, the monitoring is configured to connect to the SAP BODS platform via JMX and obtain the status and performance information of the node configured for monitoring, using the attributes exposed by BODS's Managed beans. The prerequisites for monitoring through JMX are captured in How does eG Enterprise Monitor the SAP BOBI Platform? topic in Monitoring SAP Business Objects document.
