Horizon Logins Test
This test monitors the user logins and logouts of the Omnissa Horizon Connection Server. By continuously tracking the logins and logouts, administrators can figure out the users who have logged in/logged out and the time of login/logout. This way, administrators can identify users who were unusually logged in for a longer duration as well as proactively identify connection issues as well as the session load on the server.
Target of the test : An Omnissa Horizon Connection server
Agent deploying the test : An internal agent
Outputs of the test : One set of results for the Omnissa Horizon Connection Server being monitored
Parameters | Description |
---|---|
Test Period |
How often should the test be executed. |
Host |
The host for which the test is to be configured. |
Port |
Refers to the port used by Omnissa Horizon Connection server. The default port number is NULL. |
Logfile Path |
In the Logfile Path text box, specify the full path to the debug-<current date> file where the details of the current logins/logouts are stored. By default, the file will be available in the C:\Program files\VMware\VDM directory. If the file indeed resides in its default location, set the Logfile Path to none. On the other hand, if the file has been installed in a different location, provide the full path to that location against the Logfile Path. |
DD Frequency |
Refers to the frequency with which detailed diagnosis measures are to be generated for this test. The default is 1:1. This indicates that, by default, detailed measures will be generated every time this test runs, and also every time the test detects a problem. You can modify this frequency, if you so desire. Also, if you intend to disable the detailed diagnosis capability for this test, you can do so by specifying none against DD Frequency. |
Detailed Diagnosis |
To make diagnosis more efficient and accurate, the eG Enterprise embeds an optional detailed diagnostic capability. With this capability, the eG agents can be configured to run detailed, more elaborate tests as and when specific problems are detected. To enable the detailed diagnosis capability of this test for a particular server, choose the On option. To disable the capability, click on the Off option. The option to selectively enable/disable the detailed diagnosis capability will be available only if the following conditions are fulfilled:
|
Measurement | Description | Measurement Unit | Interpretation |
---|---|---|---|
New logins |
Indicates the number of user logins to the server. |
Number |
This measure is a good indicator of the load on the Omnissa Horizon Connection Server. A consistent zero value could indicate a connection issue. The detailed diagnosis of this measure if enabled, lists the Session ID, the name of the user, the logged in time, User SID and the Client IP address. |
New logouts |
Indicates the number of user logouts from the server. |
Seconds |
If all the current sessions suddenly log out, it indicates a problem condition that requires investigation. The detailed diagnosis of this measure if enabled, lists the Session ID, the name of the user, the logout time, the time duration for which the user was logged in, the User SID and the Client IP address. |
